This bread pudding may be served warm or cool. If desired, top with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. The maple syrup adds the perfect touch.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups finely diced walnuts
  • 2 cups unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 cups peeled, cored and diced apples
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13X9X2 inch baking dish and set aside. In a large bowl, beat milk, apple butter and eggs. Stir in walnuts, bread crumbs and apples until well combined. Pour into prepared baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes or until top is golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle maple syrup over top. Let rest 5 minutes. Spoon into dessert bowls and serve warm.
