This recipe uses the convenience of frozen bread dough, which is rolled out and wrapped around a filling of ground beef, cabbage, onion and a hint of nutmeg, then baked.
Saute ground beef, cabbage and onion in pan until meat is cooked; drain. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg; set aside. Slice dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a small circle. Spoon about 1/3 cup of meat mixture into circle, pull up sides of dough; moisten edges and pinch together. Place in an oiled 9 x 13 pan (seam side down) and bake for 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes. (Temperature and time is adjusted for Colorado altitude, so you may need to make adjustments of your own if you are lower than the "mile high city.")
Notes:
These are also great for snacks, and lunches. Just pop them in the microwave and eat. I like to tear off a corner and put catsup inside. Yum!
