|4 tsp||Baking Powder|
|1½ cup||Chopped Walnuts|
In a mixing bowl sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in 1 1/4 C. of the walnuts. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Mix just until ingredients are blended.
Turn into greased and floured 9x5-in loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 C. walnuts over top. Bake at 350' F. for 60-70 minutes or until loaf tests done. Let stand in pan 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack to cool. Makes 1 loaf.
You can also make 2-3 mini loafs with this recipe and bake for 50 min.
