Chili Cheese Pinwheels

Tender, cheesy biscuits spiced up with a little chili powder.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/4-1/2 tsp chili powder

Method
Sift first 3 ingredients together. Cut in shortening and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Blend until mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually stir in only enough milk to form a soft dough then roll 1/2 inch thick. Brush melted butter on surface of dough. Combine remaining cheese with chili powder and sprinkle over dough. Roll in jelly roll fashion. Cut into slices 1/2 inch thick. Bake 12 to 15 minutes on well greased cookie sheet at 450 degrees.
Notes: Great with supper or the next day in your lunch box.
