Tender, cheesy biscuits spiced up with a little chili powder.
Sift first 3 ingredients together. Cut in shortening and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Blend until mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually stir in only enough milk to form a soft dough then roll 1/2 inch thick. Brush melted butter on surface of dough. Combine remaining cheese with chili powder and sprinkle over dough. Roll in jelly roll fashion. Cut into slices 1/2 inch thick. Bake 12 to 15 minutes on well greased cookie sheet at 450 degrees.
Notes:
Great with supper or the next day in your lunch box.
