Miss Robinson's French Toast

This recipe is delicious when paired with maple sausage links. Have a little bit of sweet with the savory for your next brunch.
Ingredients
- 12 slices bread
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp cream
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Maple syrup to taste

Method
In a shallow dish, whisk to combine eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and cream. Heat a large greased griddle pan or skillet to medium low. Dredge each slice of bread through egg mixture allowing some of the mixture to soak into bread. Fry bread, using griddle or skillet, until both sides are golden. Set aside until all French toast is finished frying. To assemble, place 1 French toast slice on each plate, cover with cheese slice. Place second slice of French toast over cheese. Add a second cheese slice and cover with final slice of French toast. Place powdered sugar into sifter and sprinkle over toast stack. Serve warm with plenty of warm maple syrup.
