Old Fashion Lemon Bread

A traditional quick bread made with lemon that is easy to make.
 

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbs. shortening
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • grated rind of one lemon
  • juice of one lemon with 3Tbs. sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Method

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and lemon rind Add dry ingredients. Add milk. Pour into greased loaf pan, cook about 50 mins, at 350 degrees. After it is cooked, drizzle top with lemon juice mixed with 3 Tbs. sugar.
