The flavors of peaches and Roquefort cheese combine in this loaf, which also has whipping cream and rolled oats added to the slightly sweetened yeast dough.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup crumbled Roquefort cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped: use fresh, frozen (thawed) or canned (well drained)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Method

Place all the ingredients into the pan of your bread machine, program the machine for basic white bread, light crust setting and press Start. [Check the dough after 10-15 minutes of kneading; it should have formed a smooth ball, soft but not sticky.] Remove bread from pan when done; cool on rack for 1 hour before slicing.

Notes: This is a fun bread to make. Very unusual and the taste is something you will want more of.

Number of Servings: 12-16 slices
