These muffins combine orange yogurt, orange extract, and pecans in a batter that also contains melted butter and granulated sugar.
Preheat oven to 400F. Line a standard (2 1/2-inch) 12-cup muffin pan with paper or foil liners. In a small bowl combine the flour, the sugar, the baking powder, the baking soda and the salt. Whisk to blend and set aside. In a large bowl combine the butter, the yogurt, the egg, the half & half and the orange extract. Whisk to blend. Stir in the dry ingredients until just moistened. Fold in the pecans. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the center of the muffins comes out clean, about 15 - 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool muffins, in pan, for five minutes. Transfer to a rack set over a sheet of waxed paper. Spoon glaze over warm muffins. If desired, sprinkle orange zest over each muffin top. Transfer muffins to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature
