Swiss Cheese Bread

Poppy seeds, garlic, green onion and Swiss cheese dress up a loaf of French bread for the perfect appetizer or bread course.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 large block Swiss cheese

Method

Melt butter then add garlic, poppy seeds and chopped onions. Slice bread almost through, leaving a small portion intact, at the bottom of each slice. Place bread on aluminum foil. Place a slice of Swiss cheese in each cut. Spoon butter mixture into each cut. Cover top with aluminum foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.
