These muffins get the tropical flavor from the fruit and nuts meanwhile getting its sweetness from the chocolate chunks.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place paper liners in muffin pan. Beat together the butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix in the bananas and eggs. Add the pineapple and let it set for 5 minutes to soften. Mix in the baking powder, soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and nuts. Then add the flour 1/2 cup at a time. Blend in the chocolate chunks and fill the muffin liners 3/4 full. Mix the topping ingredients and add a spoonful to each muffin. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes or until done. Cool. Yield: 12 muffins
